After the 1950s, the changing state policies caused more importance to be given to the construction of highways. As of 2001, there are 1.015 km of roads belonging to the Highways. The deficiencies and malfunctions of the highways in our province are eliminated by 3 separate branch offices affiliated to the Highways. Afyonkarahisar is a natural junction point connecting the north to the south and the west to the east in Anatolia; It is surrounded by Konya in the east, Eskişehir and Kütahya in the north, Uşak and Denizli in the west, and Isparta and Burdur in the south.

Railway:
The center of our city is the only city center in our country, located at the junction of four separate railway lines. Transportation is provided to every part of our country by rail, and an average of 18 trains pass through Afyonkarahisar Station per day. Our city center is directly connected to the neighboring provinces of Konya, Isparta, Denizli and Kütahya by railways. Among the railway lines, 72 km of the Afyonkarahisar-Konya line, 66 km of the Afyonkarahisar-Kütahya line, 50 km of the Afyonkarahisar-Uşak line and 206 km of the Afyonkarahisar-Denizli line are within the borders of our province.
